09-14-2003 Special Called Meeting r ( r 1, ~ PEACHTREE CITY AIRPORT AUTHORITY MINUTES OF MEETING September 14, 2003 A Special Called meeting of the Peachtree City Airport Authority was held at the Aviation Center, Peachtree City-Falcon Field Airport, on September 14, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. Those present were Chairman Catherine M. Nelmes; Members Jerry R. Cobb, Douglas A. Fisher, and James E. Toombs; Airport Manager James H. Savage; and Assistant Manager Andrew Bolton. Authority Attorney Douglas B. Warner and Member Matt M. Davis were absent due to conflicts caused by the short notice of the meeting. Also in attendance were Mr. Greg Hall, Mr. Butch Hill, Mr. Dick Kagarise and Mr. John Flynn, volunteers from the Great Georgia Airshow. I. NEW AGENDA ITEMS 03-09-03 Discuss the impact on Peachtree City-Falcon Field that the National Air Tour may present when it visits on Wednesday, September 1th, and to consider authorizing funds for crowd control and event related expenses. Jerry Cobb, acting coordinator for activities associated with the stopover of the National Air Tour as is passes through Peachtree City - Falcon Field Airport, reviewed the attached notes and plans for the benefit of those in attendance. A line-by-Iine discussion was held of the list and various tasks were assigned individuals to be accomplished prior to the event scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2003. It was informally agreed that the Airport Manager could, at his discretion, spend up to $500 in support of the event for incidental expenses that might be incurred during the event. Mr. Savage indicated that he was confident that the current budget could handle that amount without any action from the Authority. No formal actions were taken and by proclamation, Chairman Nelm ended at 3:32 p. .~.~ lied the meeting Catherine M. Arriving from Bessemer Airport (BHM) - Planned overnight for the Tour. . Departures begin at 09001Thurs/18th . How many visitors can we expect? . Media/Photographers station set up 1500 from arrival/departure runway end and 75 feet from runway edge. Use Airshow Flag on cart. . Volunteers needed for traffic/parking/crowd assistance . Volunteers needed for marshalling and oil service . Fueling will be handled by airport staff (Jim Savage) 1""""\ . Marking ramp so that normal airport operations can continue (Jim Savage) . Hunting facility ramps are available for visitor parking (Cathy) . Hunting facility hangars are available if wx becomes a factor (Susan) . Traffic cones have been requested from PTC (Doug Fisher) . Kiwanis is providing a full service food booth for visitors (Butch Hill) . Dixie Wing will have their PX set up (Marie Conley) . We can order National Air Tour t- shirts to sell. Need shuttle to/from hotel.. .Is hotel providing? 8. PCAA will have standup breakfast/coffee prior to 0900 dept. Thursday 9. Need Marshallers for departure. 10. Briefing area for departure.
